Tips for Using Lyric Slides:

The "Lyrics" page for each song has a menu-bar option to show lyric slides for that song (menu bar option: "Slides"). These slides are intended to facilitate group singing by screen-mirroring the slides onto a large screen (or perhaps by simply showing them to a small group on a laptop or large tablet computer; or multiple smart phones may be used).

Here are some tips about using full-screen mode:

Problems may arise when trying to show the slides in full-screen mode. Tablet computers and smart phones typically have more problems with full-screen mode than laptop and desktop computers do. A button labeled "Full Scr." has been added to the slides to facilitate transitioning to full-screen mode. Tapping or clicking on that button should cause the web browser to toggle between full-screen mode and normal mode. However, as browser software continues to change, those buttons may not always function properly.

It is normally preferable to use web-browser controls to enter full-screen mode, as that method is likely to maintain the full-screen setting when navigating to new web pages. Using the on-screen "Full Scr." button provided with this website likely will result in the full-screen mode being lost when navigating to a new page.

Here is some information applicable to different kinds of viewing devices:

1. Windows-Based Laptop and Desktop Computers: Full-screen mode can usually be entered and exited simply by pressing the F11 key. Slides can be manually sequenced using the arrow keys on a keyboard, or the page-up and page-down keys, or by clicking on the on-screen "Next Slide" and "Previous Slide" buttons. Press the "Escape" key to go back to the previous web page.

2. Android Tablets and Phones: It seems like the Android system has not yet settled on the best way to do full-screen mode; it seems to be changing randomly over time, and getting worse over time. The on-screen "Full Scr." button seems to be the best way to implement full-screen mode (as of this writing). To transition between slides, tap on other on-screen buttons ("Next Slide" and "Previous Slide"), or swipe up and down, or swipe left and right.

Also for Android Tablets and Phones: As of this writing, the "Opera" web browser appears to have the best interface for transitioning to an almost-full-screen mode. When in landscape mode, tap on an icon in the lower right side of the screen to toggle between full-screen mode and normal mode. The status bar remains visible in this full-screen mode, but that seems to be a better option than other Android web browsers provide. (The "Opera Mini" web browser has a better full-screen mode, but it is NOT recommended, as it does not process JavaScript well, which is used for slide transitions.)

Here are some tips about using the lyric slides .pdf files:

At the bottom of each song's "Lyrics" page, there is a link for "downloadable lyrics and sheet music." That page includes a .pdf file of the lyric slides for that song. These .pdf files may be downloaded and used off-line. Using these .pdf files eliminates the full-screen problems discussed above, and eliminates the on-screen buttons used to navigate on the website. Dependence on an internet connection is also eliminated. However, the downside is that some preparation in advance of group singing will likely be necessary to use these .pdf files efficiently.

For Android devices, two free reading apps that seem to work well in displaying the .pdf lyric slides in full-screen mode are "ReadEra" and "PocketBook Reader" (display settings will likely need to be adjusted within these apps for optimal full-screen viewing). A file selection utility that I find works well to open downloaded .pdf slides files is "CX File Explorer".

For Windows computers (laptops and desktops), if you are using Adobe Acrobat Reader to display the .pdf files, use the key combination "Control-L" to switch between full-screen and regular-screen modes, or select "Full Screen Mode" via the "View" pull-down menu. The "Escape" key may be used to exit full-screen mode.

Finally, a good reminder: "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:17 ESV)
